Coat of Arms

Shield sable, a paddle Argent.
Meaning:
The paddle had been as an instrument in laundries and is said to represent the local weaving mills in the, found in the field name "Tuchbleiche" and the street "Bleichstraße". But there is in fact no prove for this hypothesis. Historian Ernst Erich Metzner is interpreting the paddle as a symbol of shipping in the context of Schwarzbach River, which had been broader and thus navigable in the past.
