Coat of Arms

Description of coat of arms:
Shield Or with plain base Vert, a magpie passant proper.
Meaning:
The magpie is derived from the arms of the medieval Lords of Algermissen. Dietrich of Algermissen used in 1350 a shield with a magpie in his seal and arms. The meaning of the bird is not known. The green and golden colours are symbolising the green fields and the rich crops, and thus the rural character of the village.
The arms were approved in the 1960ies.
