Zaisenhausen Coat of Arms

Shield Azure, a bushel Argent.
Meaning:
The arms display a local symbol, which appeared on boundary stones from 1611 and 1613 and a bell from 1681. It was described in 1749 as "annulet, superimposed by a bridge". The pattern is usually denoted as a bushel (German: Sester), a dry measure, and was very common as local symbol. Local seals, in use since 1747, displayed the same pattern, in the beginning oval. On occasion of a revision in 1911, the municipality wished expressis verbis the restoration of the circular version. The tinctures are alluding to the Palatine Electorate, to which the municipality belonged until 1802.
