Coat of Arms

Shield Azure, a triplemount Or, issuant from mount a lion barry of six of Argent and Gules, crowned and armed Or.
Meaning:
Frankenberg became a city in the middle of the 13th century. The oldest seal from 1249 and displays a city wall with five towers. The smaller seals, also dating from the late 13th century, show however the lion of Hesse issuant from the triplemount as a canting element.
