Coat of Arms

Shield Azure, a lion rampant barry of ten of Argent and Gules, armed Or, holding a fish Or in pale by his forepaws.
Meaning:
The lion barry is taken from the arms of Hessen, to which the town belonged since 1462. The fish was added as a symbol to distinguish the arms from those of Hessen and is symbolising Weser River.
The arms were approved in 1954 to former Gieselwerder municipality.
