Schwieberdingen Municipal Coat of Arms

Description of coat of arms:
In the centre of a light blue shield is a golden (= yellow) 8-point star flanked by two upright moon crescents of the same colour averted from one another.
A local deed book from 1597 says that a wolf trap had been "the coat of arms of the village". A seal from 1800 shows the current elements. The crescents are however lying and placed above and beneath the star, which probably was just a decorative adornment. The current order is taken from the arms of the Lords of Magenheim, adminstrators of the local church until 1321. An oval stamp from 1903 forced the municipality to turn the elements clockwise 90°.

Banner, however yellow - blue, and coat of arms were approved on 4 December 1980 by the county administration, published in GABl 232/1981.
