Putzbrunn Coat of Arms

Shield Argent a well Gules, mantled, at dexter Vert a water lily leaf Argent, at sinister parted per fess of Gules and Vert by a bar wavy Argent.
Meaning:
The well (German: Brunnen) with tub and reservoir is a canting element. The leaf is alluding to the Benedictine Tegernsee Abbey. Its arms displayed two green leaves in a white shield. The sinister half of the mantle displays the arms of the Augustine Weyarn Abbey. Putzbrunn was already known before 990 as a settlement on the road from Tegernsee to Freising. Since the 12th century both Abbeys owned large estates, the former mainly in Putzbrunn and Solalinden, the latter in Ödenstockach.
