Ruderting Coat of Arms

Shield parted per pale, in base parted by a fess wavy in counterchanged tinctures, at dexter Argent a fleur-de-lis Azure, at sinister Azure a demi-wolf rampant Argent.
The fess wavy is a representation of the Ilz River. The fleur-de-lis is taken from the arms of the Counts of Fugger. Their Hilgartsberg branch owned the local Schöllnstein district (Bavarian: Hofmark) from 1621 until the 19th century. The fleur-de-lis also is alluding to a endemic species of lilies (Latin: Iris sibirica). The demi-wolf is a differentiation in posture and tincture of the arms of City and Bishopric of Passau. The village belonged to the latter until 1803. The main tinctures are those of Bayern, to which the biggest part of the village historically belonged.
