    Boizenburg Coat of Arms

    Shield Azure, a castle Or with port and windows Azure and two side wings of the same.
    Meaning:
    Port and windows sometimes are depicted also golden. The arms are based on a city seal, prints are known since 1326. The castle is symbolising Boizenburg as a fortified city and is canting, referring to the syllable "Burg" (= castle).

    The arms were granted on 10 April 1858 by Grand Duke Friedrich Franz II of Mecklenburg-Schwerin. The flag was approved and the arms confirmed on 31 May 1996 by Minister of Interior of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern and published in the Municipal Roll of Arms Mecklenburg-Vorpommern as no.36.
