Strahlungen Coat of Arms

Shield Azure a crozier Or in bend sinister, superimposed by a bend chequered of Gules and Argent, in base a radiant sun Or with face, chief Or charged with four Greek crosslets Azure.
Meaning:
Strahlungen was first mentioned in 1445. Crozier and chequered bend, also known as Cistercian bend, are alluding to the Cistercian Bildhausen Abbey, established in 1156/1158 and secularised in 1803. The abbey owned local estates since 1196. The sun is reminding on Bishop Bonifaz (died in 1770), also known as the solar bishop. The crosslets are the so called crosses of the Swedes, reminding on the 30-Years-War (1618 - 1648).
