Nienstädt Coat of Arms

Shield Argent with bordure Gules, a nettle leaf Azure (powder blue), charged with a grain ear Or in pale and hammer and mallet Sable hilted Or crossed per saltire.
Meaning:
The nettle leaf is taken from the arms of the Counts of Schaumburg, the former rulers. Hammer and mallet are symbolising mining and the grain ear agriculture.

Municipalities without proper Flags

According to source, based on the local Hauptsatzungen, the municipalities Helpsen, Hespe, Nienstädt and Seggebruch have no proper flags and are hoisting the banner of the comprehensive municipality.
