Breitungen Coat of Arms

Shield parted per pall reversed, above right barry of ten of Sable and Or charged with a crancelin Vert in bend, above left Azure a lion rampant barry of ten of Argent and Gules, in base Vert a water lily Argent seeded Or.
Breitungen developed in 1950 by a coalescance of Altenbreitungen, Frauenbreitungen and Herrenbreitungen. The dexter quarter displays the Saxon arms and is symbolising that Frauenbreitungen and Altenbreitungen, which historically belonged to Sachsen-Meiningen. The sinister quarter is symbolising that Herrenbreitungen historically belonged to Hessen. The water lily in base is symbolising the importance of nature protection in the area.
