Elxleben Coat of Arms

Shield parted per pale wavy, at dexter Argent an attire Sable in pale, at sinister Gules a sword flambant Argent in pale.
The line of partition is a representation of the Gera River. The attire is said to be a canting element, as the name of the municipality means swamp of the elk. The sword is an attribute of St. Michael, the local patron saint.
