Falkenfels Coat of Arms

Shield Sable charged with falcon rising Or chaussee Argent, base embattled Gules.
Meaning:
The base is referring to the important local fortress from the 13th century. Its belfry still exists. The falcon is canting referring to the municipality and to the Falkenstein family as well, who owned the fortress. The black triangle in top is reminding on the Barons of Weichs, who owned the castle between 1607 and 1796. The tinctures red and white are referring to two other owners of the castle, the Paulsdorf kin (around 1480 until 1525) and the Seyboldsdorf kin (1525 until 1607).
