Schönsee Coat of Arms

Shield Argent, issuant from sinister flanch a stem of Vert of a water lily with three leaves of the same.
Meaning:
Schönsee already had been a market town and seat of a law court in 1360 as a possession of the Margraves of Leuchtenberg, who had been vassals of the Kings of Böhmen (Bohemia). City rights were granted in 1393 at the instigation of the landgraves. City seals are in use since the early 15th century. The 1st seal and the 2nd seal (16th century) displayed the stem with leaves sinister facing. Since 1619 the current version prevailed. During the 19th century the stem had also been impending on seals and in literature. The tinctures are known since the 18th century.
