The chain is an attribute of St. Leonard, patron of agriculture and stock breeding and also of the local parish church. The swede is taken from the personal arms of Leonhard of Keutschach, who had been Archbishop of Salzburg between 1495 and 1519. The lion is a differentiation of the arms of the archbishopric, also the tinctures are taken from its arms. The village belonged to the archbishopric until the beginning of the 19th century.
