Dietramszell Coat of Arms

Shield Azure, an enhanced fess wavy Argent, superimposed by a tent of the same with an M-shaped inlet gules, charged with a 6-point star Or.
The arms are based on those of the Augustine Dietramzell Abbey, which had been the ecclesiastical, economic and cultural centre of the municipality since the 12th century until 1803, when the abbey was secularised. The tent, a punning element, was first depicted on a provost's secret seal from 1494. The star was a heraldic symbol of the abbey since the 17th century. The M-shaped inlet is referring to the original name of the monastery, which had been "Cella beati Martini" (the cell of the happy Martin). St. Martin furthermore was patron saint of the former parish church. The fess wavy is representing the Isar River.
