Türkheim Coat of Arms

Shield parted per fess, above Azure two bends Or, beneath Argent a quadruplemount Vert issuant from base and charged with a fess wavy Argent.
Meaning:
In 1700 Duke Maximilian Philipp of Bayern granted the rights of a market town and a coat of arms. Heraldry had declined in those days. The upper half was announced as family arms of the Counts of Schwabegg, who however didn't exist. The lower half was representing the hilly landscape and the little Wertach River. The first town seals appeared in the 19th century. The pattern was basically the same like that one from 1700. The new edition of Siebmacher (1856) tried to make an amendment. The pattern was simplified in 1918.
