Böbing Coat of Arms

Shield Azure an eradicated beech Or, chief Argent parted by a cross Gules.
The cross in chief is the cross of St. George, the local patron saint. The beech is taken from the arms of the Augustine Rottenbuch Monastery, however in different tinctures, as the canting beech in the Rottenbuch arms is of course red. Böbing became part of the monastery's first endowment in 1074, donated by Duke Welf IV of Bayern. The monastery formed a district (Bavarian: Hofmark) until 1803, when it was dissolved due to secularisation. Furthermore the monastery had the right of patronage of the local parish church since 1270.
