The municipality of Monterrubio de la Demanda (78 inhabitants in 2009; 1,511 ha) is located in the southeast of the Province of Burgos, 80 km of Burgos.

Symbols of Monterrubio de la Demanda

The flag of Monterrubio de la Demanda is prescribed by a Decree adopted on 22 December 2001 by the Municipal Council, signed the same day by the Mayor, and published on 14 January 2002 in the official gazette of Castilla y León, No. 9, p. 553 (text).
The flag is described as follows:

Flag: Quadrangular with proportions 1:1. Three vertical stripes, two of equal height (3/10), blue and red, in the middle a yellow stripe, of 4/10. On the border, charged in the upper part with white and yellow stripes, respectively. In the middle is placed the municipal coat of arms.

The coat of arms of Monterrubio de la Demanda is prescribed by a Decree adopted on 30 July 2001 by the Municipal Council, signed on 6 August 2001 by the Mayor, and published on 20 August 2011 in the official gazette of Castilla y León, No. 161, p. 12,574 (text).
The coat of arms is described as follows:

Coat of arms: Per pale, 1. Azure a tower or masoned sable a man standing on the crenellations holding a pennant or, 2a. Gules a bell tower or, 2b. Or a furnace proper flaming surrounded by two trees (a beech and a pine), grafted in base vert an ewe's head argent. The shield surmounted with a Royal crown closed.
