The municipality of Zorita (1,367 inhabitants in 2019 vs. 6,482 in 1950; 18,696 ha) is located 83 km south-east of Cáceres and 20 km south-west of Logrósan.

Flag of Zorita

The flag and arms of Zorita, adopted on 5 June 1998 by the Municipal Council and validated on 16 November 1999 by the Assessing Council of Honors and Distinctions of the Government of Extremadura, are prescribed by an Order issued on 3 May 2000 by the Government of Extremadura and published on 13 May 2000 in the official gazette of Extremadura, No. 55, p. 4,708-4,709 (text).
The symbols are described as follows:

Flag: Rectangular, in proportions 2:3. Composed of three equal vertical stripes, white at hoist, red in the center and yellow at fly.
Coat of arms: Per fess, 1. Azure an orle of twelve five-pointed stars or., 2a. Argent a lion rampant gules crowned or, 2b. Gules a castle or masoned sable. The shield surmounted by a Royal crown closed.
