The municipality of Abánades (61 inhabitants in 2014, 3,608 ha) is located in the center of the Province of Guadalajara, 80 km of Guadalajara and 30 km of Sigüenza.

Symbols of Abánades

The flag and arms of Abánades are prescribed by a Decree issued on 13 January 2015 by the Government of Castilla-La Mancha and published on 27 January 2015 in the official gazette of Castilla-La Mancha, No. 17, p. 1,828 (text).
The symbols are described as follows:

Flag: Horizontal, in proportions 2:3, with a vertical stripe gules at hoist (1:2), charged with the municipal coat of arms, and two horizontal stripes, the upper vert (1:2) and the lower azure (1:2).
Coat of arms: Per pale, 1. Gules a cross patty argent, 2. Vert a column or. Grafted in base azure a duck argent beaked gules the base wavy argent and azure. The shield surmounted by a Royal Spanish crown.

The symbols (municipal website) were designed by Antonio Herrera Casado, Chronicler of the Province of Guadalajara
