The municipality of Villamontán de la Valduerna (917 inhabitants in 2009; 5,715 ha; municipal website) is located in the southeast of León Province, 60 km of León. The municipality, located in the valley of rover Duerna, is made of the seven villages of Fresno de la Valduerna, Miñambres de la Valduerna, Posada y Torre de la Valduerna, Redelga de la Valduerna, Valle de la Valduerna, Villalís de la Valduerna and Villamontán de la Valduerna.

Symbols of Villamontán de la Valduerna

The flag of Villamontán de la Valduerna, designed by Laureano M. Rubio Pérez, is prescribed by a Decree adopted on 19 September 2008 by the Municipal Council, signed on 16 October 2008 by the Mayor, and published on 29 October 2008 in the official gazette of Castilla y León, No. 209, p. 21,286 (text).
The flag is described as follows:

Flag: Of rectangular shape, made of seven equal horizontal stripes, red and green in the upper part, green and red in the lower part, red flanked by two white stripes in the central part, separated by a golden border, a green triangle at hoist charged with the municipal coat of arms.

The coat of arms of Villamontán de la Valduerna (municipal website) is prescribed by a Decree adopted on 25 March 1998 by the León Provincial Government, signed on 1 April 1998 by the President of the Government, and published on 27 April 1998 in the official gazette of Castilla y León, No. 77 (text).
The coat of arms is described as follows:

Coat of armx: Per fess, 1a. A tree vert over waves azure and argent, 1b. Azure a vase argent with lilies of the same, 2. Argent seven pennants vert placed four, one bigger, and two. The shield surmounted with a Royal crown closed.
