Symbols of Migueláñez

The flag and arms of Migueláñez are prescribed by a Decree adopted on 28 April 1998 by the Segovia Provincial Government, signed on 8 May 1998 by the President of the Government, and published on 27 May 1998 in the official gazette of Castilla y León, No. 98 (text).
The symbols are described as follows:

Flag: Quadrangular flag, with proportions 1:1, green. In the middle of the flag is placed the municipal coat of arms in full colors.
Coat of arms: Per pale, 1. Or a spear sable per bend surrounded by two spurs of the same, 2. Gules a two-staged aqueduct argent masoned sable over rocks of the same. The shield surmounted with a Royal Spanish crown.

The Royal Academy of History validated the proposed symbols, recognizing that the coat of arms shows charges alluding to its resettler, Miguel Yáñez and to the Community of the Town and Land of Segovia [the Segovia Roman aqueduct] as in several other cases [of municipal arms] (Boletín de la Real Academia de la Historia, 2000, 197, 1: 175).
