Presentation of Trigueros del Valle

The municipality of Trigueros del Valle (339 inhabitants in 2010; 3,800 ha) is located in the north of the Valladolid Province, 20 km from Valladolid.

Trigueros del Valle developed around a castle (presentation) rebuilt in the 15th century but much older. In 1453, the castle belonged to Gutierre de Robles and María de Viguera, lords of Valdetrigueros. Not pleased with their descendants, the villagers asked for the protection of the king. In 1521, the castle was seized during the Comuneros Uprising and partially destroyed by the villagers.
