Introduction

In the 1970s and '80s there was a TV series about a crusading coroner (Dr. Quincy whose first name was never revealed) that took place in Los Angeles.

There was an episode called "By the Death of a Child" which originally aired on 4 October 1979. Dr. Quincy was sent to the Republic of San Christos (which seems a little bit like an oxymoron). The republic was an English-speaking Caribbean island with Spanish and French heritage. Like mainland Venezuela, it was a newly oil exporting country.

In any event, it had a reasonably well-designed fictional flag which was prominently featured from a top flagpoles and on motor cars. Unfortunately, the colours contrasted and complemented one another poorly. It is possible the pile was an equilateral triangle and that the ratio was greater than 2:3, but that's the best I could do with the images on the screen and the scribbles on the back of my envelope.
