The anime series Starship
Operators follows a group of military cadets returning from a
training cruise aboard a newly commissioned warship. Upon arrival, they
learn that their homeworld, Kibi, has just capitulated in the face of a
suprise attack by an agressive, expansionist regional power, the
Galactic Alliance of Planetary Nations.
Interned aboard the ship, the cadets mutiny, hijack it, smuggle aboard
the former Kibian prime minister and declare a goverment in exile, then
flee, with the Alliance's navy in hot pursuit. In order to cover
operating expenses such as fuel and munitions, they go on to sell the
rights to their engagements to a TV network for broadcast as a reality show.

The flag of Kibi appears at the end of episode 2, draped over a coffin.
It is a pinkish shade of red, with a complex pale-yellow symbol
resembling a stylized flower in its center.
