Flag of Alfortville - Image by Olivier Touzeau, 19 May 2017
The municipality of Alfortville (45,043 inhabitants in 2014; 367 ha) is located in the southeastern suburbs of Paris. The municipality was created on 1 April 1885 from part of the municipality of Maisons-Alfort.

The flag of Alfortville (photo, Town Hall; image) is purple with the municipal logo in white, with parts of a bigger "A" repeated in light purple at the fly, while the stand-alone logo is purple (for the "A") and brown on white,
To highlight the name of the town and further affirm its identity, the municipality wished to have a new visual identity for Alfortville in early 2009.
The new logo was conceived from a typographic work carried out on the name of the municipality. The typography was chosen to convey the values of tradition and modernity, and to express the dynamism of Alfortville. The citizens of Afortville will recognize their identity with the valorisation of the first letter, "A", treated as a drop cap, in a typography with both generous and modern curvew and in colors combining prestige and proximity.
