The municipality of Zagora-Mouresi (5,809 inhabitants in 2011; 15,050 ha) was established in the 2011 local government reform as the merger of the former municipalities of Mouresi (2,475 inh.) and Zagora (3,829 inh.).

Mouresi is located in Magnesia, in the northeastern part of the Pelion peninsula, on the Aegean Sea coast. The area is mountainous and densely forested. The seat of the municipality was in Tsagkarada (Τσαγκαράδα, 543 inh.).

The flag of Mouresi (Kokkonis website) was light blue with a white cross and the municipal emblem in a white oval in the middle of the flag..
