The ceremonial flag (gonfalon) is made of highly glossy material, edged with a golden/yellow outline, with three tails at the bottom ornamented with golden tassels. The flag is equipped with the hanging, carrying and displaying kit.
A copy of the special document depicting the flag and a copy of the flag are preserved in the Croatian State Archives.

In the amended Decision, the beginning of the flag's description was changed to "The flag of the Municipality of Dekanovec is in proportions 1:2, blue, with the coat of arms of the municipality, bordered yellow, in the middle."
