Presentation of Podbablje

The municipality of Podbablje (4,904 inhabitants in 2001) is located due south-west of Imotski. The municipality is made of eight villages; the main village, Drum, was the seat of administration, which was moved in 2006 to Kamenmost.

This is the version from 2017 but it doesn't seem to meet the Ministry of Administration criteria either.

Flag and Arms

The Municipality Assembly launched a public contest for the design of symbols, by document Natječaj za grb i zastavu općine Podbablje, adopted on 12 December 2014 (text). The deadline for proposal submission was 18 March 2015. The contest did not yield any winner and the municipality launched another public contest.

The symbols (presentation) are going to be sent to the Ministry of Administration for approval. There seems to be little doubt that this kind of "coat of arms" shall be rejected.
The flag is not explicitely mentioned anywhere but there seems to be little doubt that it would be blue with the coat of arms in the centre bordered golden-yellow.

During the session held on 9 October 2015 (report), the Municipality Assembly chose the coat of arms proposed by Branimir Jonjić among the three best submissions short-listed by the committee:

The proteus, an endemic species living in the Krčevac source in Grubine, the bridge symbolizing the oldest settlement, Kamenmost (mentioned for the first time in a document written in Latin on 24 January 1400), also being the location of the administrative building of the Municiplaity of Podbablje, the river Vrljika, the hill Baba and the grapes as the main crop of the region. At the top is the inscription that is located above the main entrance gate of the church of St. Luke (the year of bulding in the current form 1705), the patron of the parish and of the Municipality of Podbablje.
