Founded by Rao Takshah Singh descendant of Maharaj Hammirdev Chauhan of Ranstambhpur (Ranthambhore), the rulers of Bhaddaiyan state of Awadh are direct descendants of Maharaja Prithviraj Chauhan. Being situated on one of the most prosperous regions of India, Maharajas of Bhaddaiyan were related to some of the greatest powers of their time be it the Mughals, Nawabs of Awadh, or the British, the Maharajas had prominent position in the court of them all. The Glory of the state came to an end after the great uprising on 1857 because of supporting the natives. After that date, the state became Taluk.
