The Flag

The city emblem was adopted on Oct 1st 1958 by Notice No 23 and the flag was adopted on Jun 27th 1988 by Notice No 70. The green flag has a white city emblem in the center. The city emblem is a stylized hiragana あ A and kanji 南 Nan in a form of a cap of wave and a rising sun. It represents a surge , a development, a concord and a solidarity of the city.
