The symbol mark represents the green earth, which represents global internationalism, and the "a" of Akita, which represents a young cedar growing into the future. The figure of the young cedar is inspired by the character for "?"=human and represents the youthful human resources who will grow up and leap forward from this university, which is open to the world, and who will contribute to the local and international communities.
