Located in Yokohama City Kanagawa Prefecture and established in 1989. The embroidered ceremonial hanging flag has dark red background with a gold emblem and vertically written gold kanji motto 敬神奉仕 Respect and Serve God in gold fringe. The university's emblem was adopted in 1927, during Hamilton's tenure as principal. It indicates that the university was founded by the Methodist Church of Canada. The initials "T" and "E" of Toyo-Eiwa are incorporated into the maple leaf, the national tree of Canada.
