Overview

In the last summer I started a campain at Lithuania seeking for their district (raion) flags. One of the answeres with pictures was Varena. Image above is made acording to those pictures.
Falko Schmidt, 25 October 2002

Varena - wrong flag proportions above. On a blue field a white pale (blue-white-blue 1-1-1), on the blue fields silver heath flowers with golden sepals and centres, on the white field the arms of Varena: bee and 6 heath flowers. Flag proportions 5:8, fringe is golden, finial is a golden knob. The arms symbolize traditions of beekeeping and the hard working nature of the local people.
