of the Socialist People's Party of Montenegro who left their party in 2012 after it had refused to join the
Democratic Front (Demokratski fornt), a coalition of opposition
parties, which they joined as non-partisan members. The newly
founded party has been a mamber of the coalition from its founding day.

The party symbols are described in Article 3 of the party Statutes (text), as follows:
The emblem of the Party represents its stylized name in color, inscribed in block/handwritten letters.
The emblem may be used in Cyrillic and Latin versions.The flag of the party is in rectangular shape with three horizontal fields of varying dimensions, which consist of three colors: blue, white and red. In the center of the flag, on the blue field, is placed the abbreeviation of the party name, "DNP", with the full name of the party inscribed below in white, while near the lower right corner is placed a yellow check sign which touches all three flag fields.
The described design is actually used as a logo, while on flags (photos, photos, photos) it is placed on a blue background and fimbriated white, occupying most of the flag field and leaving just a blue border.
