The symbols of Plav are prescribed in the Municipal Statutes (text) as follows:

The coat of arms of Plav is in Spanish shield shape, rounded-off in base.
The coat of arms contains the following elements:
On the left side of the shield is a stylized part of the Redžepagić tower, while on the right side is shown part of a stylized fir tree.
Between the tower and fir in the upper part of the shield are three mountain peaks.
In the middle part of the coat of arms there are meadows and blue basin.
In the lower part of the shield, wavy lines show the Plavsko Lake, while at the bottom of the shield there is the Roman number "XIII", which represents the beginning of the settlement of Plav.
The coat of arms is made in two basic colors, blue and green in shades, with a combination of white color.
The coat of arms of the municipality is in use as a symbol of the municipality of Plav, and it shall be used on municipality buildings, in official premises as well as in special ceremonial occasions when the importance and tradition of the municipality of Plav are emphasized.
The municipal coat of arms will be used in general use in a manner and procedure determined by a special decision Municipal Assembly.

The flag is in rectangular shape, of length at least double the height, blue, embroidered in gold, with embroidered emblem in the center.
