The EZLN's flag is a 4:7 dimensioned (approximately, I have seen 2:3 and 1:2 variations) of a plain black field and a five-pointed regular red star in the center. I have seen it on several occasions in Mexico and is described in several songs by Rage Against the Machine, such as War Within a Breath.

As described by Dennis Fyck.

About the last message about the EZLN, let me tell you the correct name in Spanish is "Ejército Zapatista de Liberación Nacional".
The "official" flag or at least the most-used flag of the Movement that started to operate on 1 January 1994, is black charged with a red five-pointed star above the movement initials, also in red.
There are several variations (single red star over black; Zapata's face and initials, etc) and information published at FLAG REPORT by Mr. Jaume Ollé.

Red and black is flown as a flag of a factory on strike in Mexico (although I'm not sure in what configuration). I have also seen a a red and black vertical bicolour with a red and black star inverted down its' vertical axis - i.e. a red section over the black rectangle and vice verse. This particular flag was spotted at a film of a Zapatista demonstration in Mexico. (The Zapatistas are an indigenous Mexican anarchist movement).

I do not know if this image is EZLN or FZLN. Bay the way, here's a great example that sometimes heraldic terms are very effective: Matthias' description above is simply per pale red and black, a star counterchanged.
