Heeze 1960 flagproposal

[Heeze 1960 flagproposal] by Jarig Bakker, 26 Jun 2003

Sierksma's Nederlands Vlaggenboek, 1962 [sie62] has:
"Description: Green, with a yellow diagonal; at hoist bottom a six-pointed white star, at fly top a red white mounted hunting horn.
This was a proposal approved by the municipal council on 3 Nov 1960, pending a correction of the arms, which was sent for approval [to the High Council of Nobility] at the same meeting.
For the flag the appropriate colors of the Coat of Arms were used. The diagonal divides the flag in the former duality of Heeze and Leende. The star is the symbol of the Virgin Mary, patron saint of Heeze, while the horn is from the Coat of Arms of Leende."

I assume that this has remained a proposal; the municipality had to wait for another 20 years to get its flag.
