Description of the flag

The Portuguese War Veterans' League - Liga dos Combatentes (lit. Fighters' League), is an official institution under the (Portuguese) Defense Ministry though working as a non-profit association for former Portuguese Armed Forces personnel, who saw active duty. Its flag is white with dark green bordure (in the style of Portuguese rank flags and the league's emblem centred on it. This emblem features the medal insignia of the War Cross decoration (see about it here, itself a round cross with the national shield of arms , here added of a white ring scroll reading "Liga dos" above "Combatentes", on top of a large Christ Knight's Order cross (red patty voided). This flag exists both as an indoors/parade banner, with fringe and staff and as a hoistable outdoors/naval flag, used in many local branches.
