It is a typical Portuguese communal flag, with the coat of arms centred on a field quartered of green and yellow.

Shield Or, a windmill's wheel Sable rigged Azure, in chief two lilies Gules, seeded Argent and leaved Vert, ordered per fess; in base two branches Vert crossed per saltire, an olive branch fruited Sable at dexter, and an oak tree fruited Gules at sinister, Mural crown Argent with four visible towers (town rank) and white scroll with inscription in black capitals "POUSAFLORES - ANSIÃO".
