Coat of arms

Shield Argent semy of trees Vert, in centre a pillory Sable, base wavy of Azure over Argent over Vert. Mural crown Argent with three visible towers (village rank) and white scroll with inscription in black initials: "ÂNCORA".
The base wavy is symbolizing the mouth of river Âncora (blue for the river, green for the ocean). Âncora is located on the southern bank of the homonymous little river.

Presentation of Âncora

Âncora Commune is one of the 14 communes of the Caminha municipality (q.v.); it had 1182 inhabitants in 2011 and covers 5.6 km².
