Coat of arms

Shield Vert, set in fess three spigots Or pouring water Argent, in chief three stones Argent ordered 1:2, in base a cogwheel Or. Mural crown Argent with three visible towers (village rank) and white scroll with inscription in black capitals "URGEZES".
Meaning:
The three spigots are representing historical monuments (probably wells) and the Holy Fountains of S. Gualter, of Remédios, of Parede, of Fontanário do Cruzeiro and of Tanque da Vaca Magra. The stones are attributes of St. Stephen, the local patron saint. The cogwheel is representing industries as the main local business line.
