It is a typical Portuguese communal flag, with the coat of arms centred on a plain yellow background (village rank).

Coat of arms

The arms are Azure two barrulets wavy Argent, in chief a flower Argent blossomed thrice, in base a cork oak Sable peeled and fruited Or. Mural crown argent with three visible towers (village rank) and white scroll reading in black upper case letters "SANTO ANTÓNIO DAS AREIAS"
