Coat of arms

Shield Azure, in centre St. Joseph with a baton in his left hand, taking Jesus Christ boy child at his right hand. Mural crown Argent with three visible towers (village rank) and grey scroll with inscription in black capitals "FREGUESIA DE S. JOSÉ".
The arms are canting, displaying the name giver of the commune. Pease note that in source given below the image of the shield is slightly different: The scroll is white, also the persons. On the flag the persons are just blue like the shield with black contours.
