About the Flag

It is a fairly typical Portuguese municipal flag, with the coat of arms centred on a gyronny (meaning city rank) of yellow and black field.

Shield Or, a 5-arched bridge Argent, masoned Sable, over a base wavy of Azure and Argent, in chief two cork oaks Vert fruited Or. Mural crown Argent with five visible towers (city rank) and white scroll reading in black upper case letters "PONTE DE SOR".
Meaning:
"Ponte de" means "bridge of", which is depicted on the coat of arms; Sor is the local river, a tributary of the Tejo, represented by the base wavy.
