It is a typical Portuguese communal flag, with the coat of arms centred on a plain green field.

Coat of arms

Shield Or, two millstones Gules ordered per fess, in chief three heraldic roses Gules barbed Vert and seeded Argent ordered per fess, in base a borecole Vert. Mural crown Argent with three visible towers (village rank) and white scroll with inscription in black initials: "VALHASCOS".
The roses are probably attributes of Our Lady of Grace, the local patron saint.

Presentation of Valhascos

Valhascos Commune is one of the four communes of the Sardoal municipality (q.v.); it had 402 inhabitants in 2011 and covers 8.3 km².
