Shield Vert, an obelisk Or between a chameleon Argent in dexter and a tuna fish hauriant Argent at sinister and in base a bar wavy Azure charged with a barrulet wavy Argent. Mural crown argent with three visible towers (commune rank) and white scroll reading in black upper case letters "FREGUESIA DE VILA REAL DE SANTO ANTÓNIO".
Meaning:
It is interesting that neither the municpal nor the communal arms bear any reference to St. Anthony of Lisbon and Padova, the namesake and patron of the city.
