Civic Force is a liberal political party. It was founded in 2002 as the Russian Network Party of Small and Medium Businesses (Rossiyskaya setevaya partiya malogo i srednego biznesa). In 2004, it was renamed into the Free Russia (Svobodnaya Rossiya), and the present name was adopted in 2007. In 2008, the party has merged with the Democratic Party of Russia and Union of Rightist Forces, two ideologically close parties, to form the Right Cause party. Although the party nominally disbanded itself, it was actually transformed into a same-named NGO, which shared its members with the new party. After a series of conflicts within the Right Cause, which culminated at the party congress in September same year, many of original members of Civic Force have distanced from the party and eventually transformed the NGO back into the party in February 2012 and had it registered in June same year.

Description of the Flag

Article 2 of the Party Constitution describes the flag as white, with ratio 2:3 and charged with the party emblem, which consists of a hand holding the sunflower, which is accompanied with the party name, inscribed in green in two rows, the letter height adjusted so that both text rows have the same length. The hand is white and the sunflower has yellow flower and green stem and leaf, all these elements being outlined black. The whole composition is underlined with a black line, from which the hand emerges. A photo of the flag can be seen here (image).

The flag of Free Russia was also charged with the party emblem on white field. The emblem was a combination of a marked check box and the party name, all in national colors. The flag was carried at a rally in Yekaterinburg, on 2006-09-25 (photo).
